oziTarget Map — ProPack
The competition and crew-coordination layer on top of oziTarget Map. Keep the full Standard foundation and add WatchMeFly task workflows, live cloud tracking, NMEA playback debrief, forecast winds, and specialist scoring and geometry tools.
Who ProPack is for
- ✓ Fly FAI / national balloon competitions that use WatchMeFly-style task sheets with UTM discipline.
- ✓ Run or follow a multi-balloon event where live positions appear on everyone's map.
- ✓ Debrief legs with NMEA or track playback — scrub time and compare against task geometry.
- ✓ Use 2D/3D scoring, 3D Star, turn analysis, descent prediction, or elbow task tools in earnest.
- ✓ Pull forecast winds from Open-Meteo into Windreader for pre-flight planning.
Many pilots buy lifetime Standard first and add ProPack for the competition season. ProPack does not replace Standard — it extends it. If a subscription lapses, your Standard capabilities stay available on your account.
What ProPack adds
Task Data (WatchMeFly)
Open a task URL and preview the sheet in an embedded browser, build the waypoint grid beside it, then Make or Draw all to place waypoints on the map with UTM grid truth. Per-task Generate, Resolve, and goal-lock workflows for controlled placement.
Best for: Competition organisers and pilots who live in task sheets during draw and task preparation.
Cloud tracking
Connect to the oziTarget tracking service: upload your position and receive other pilots on the map. Tracking window for session control and pilot list, projected track lines, data retention, and received tracks that persist across restarts.
Best for: Competition fields, long-distance races, and crew coordination where everyone needs a shared picture.
Playback & History
Replay loaded tracks or recorded NMEA logs — scrub time, follow the aircraft pointer, and review heading-up behaviour. History browses automatic snapshots written during Start Nav or Playback and loads them into the track list.
Best for: Post-flight debrief, judging, and training review.
Open-Meteo wind import
Fetch forecast winds from Open-Meteo and import them into Windreader with time-window and altitude controls. Standard already includes Windreader and Flightwinds sync; ProPack adds this forecast pull for planning.
Best for: Planning a flying day around forecast conditions (internet required at fetch time).
Scoring & task geometry
2D/3D scoring windows, 3D Star utilities, Descent Prediction glide paths, Turn-tool geometry, and the Elbow task (live score = 180° minus the interior angle at B). Each tool gives live map feedback.
Best for: Pilots and coaches working specific task types or training exercises beyond basic map measure.
Map Link
Pick a map position or waypoint and copy a Google Maps or Apple Maps URL to the clipboard, with a marker showing your last pick.
Best for: Sharing a contest point, goal, or field location with someone who uses phone maps.

How ProPack is licensed
ProPack is a timed add-on subscription on your oziTarget account. Sign in once and the app enables ProPack-tier menus and tools while the subscription (or 14-day trial) is active. When it expires you revert to Standard — maps, calibration, and everyday tools remain; ProPack-only commands are disabled. If the PC cannot reach the entitlement server, the last known plan may be honoured for up to 14 days.
